Musical Flying Squads

The Musical Flying Squads create musical moments for people living with the early stages of dementia. The Flying Squads visit people at home. We want to offer the chance of enjoying live music particularly to people who, for whatever reason, are isolated.

Amongst this group are people who used to play music, but no longer can. Live music and conversation can offer comfort and distraction from isolation. By opening the musical moments to family or neighbours, we hope to widen the social network of the people living with dementia.

This programme is run in collaboration with Foundation Kameraad and Social Work students of the NHL-Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Leeuwarden.
