From June 22 to 26, the CityProms Festival will take place in the heart of Leeuwarden. Embrace Netherlands once emerged from this festival and maintains warm ties with CityProms. These particular Embrace programs will be performing during the festival. All performances are free and reservations are not possible. So come on time.
Musical Turn
At the various locations of Wender, the organization that provides assistance and shelter to the homeless, visitors and residents rehearse weekly. This is how new friendships are formed. At CityProms, they show how much they enjoy making music together.

Lonesome Cowboy
This title is significant. Because inside every person there is probably a Lonesome Cowboy. It is that piece of yourself that you prefer to keep hidden from others. The piece that you therefore prefer to hide under a large imaginary hat. A cowboy hat. Lonesome Cowboy is the name of the newest musical theater performance by Anders; a performance for and by people with and without disabilities.

Clout
Come and see and hear: especially the latter. Slagkracht is the youngest branch on Embrace Netherlands’ social tree. The project began early this year in Leeuwarder’s Heechterp-Schieringen neighborhood. Since then, local residents have been meeting weekly at the community center where they spend a few hours drumming together on the samba drum. Meanwhile, they get to know each other better. During CityProms on Saturday afternoon, the group will find themselves aboard a praam, sailing through Leeuwarden’s canals for two hours.

Boundless music
Improvise, meet, learn and most of all have fun. The musicians of Boundless Music play with each other every week. At CityProms, they will show what they have to offer. The formation consists of New Dutch, although Old Dutch are also welcome. Together they share and express their different cultural backgrounds by creatively combining their traditional music. In 2018, Boundless Music was featured for the first time during CityProms.
