Musical Turn

Muzikale Wending

Musical Wending is for formerly homeless people. We visit residential or crisis locations for twenty weeks. The participants have often already experienced a lot in their lives and can take refuge in making music with this programme. The effects we see are that participants become more social, more concerned about each other and more communicative with each other, also outside the music sessions.

For Musical Wending we are currently working together with Wender, the organization that offers help to homeless people in the north of the Netherlands (hence the name!).

A telling response from a supervisor: 'The fun bounced off the residential location. The understanding towards residents increased, their patience improved and the bond of trust grew. It connects the staff, gives more job satisfaction and a nice change. In the supervision, there is really a different contact. It’s so valuable.'
