Put knowledge to use for more
music in society and healthcare

About us

[This English version of our website is under construction] Embrace Nederland uses music to offer vulnerable people and their environment a better life. We do this in both healthcare and the social domain.

We always think with institutions and target groups, both on a personal and organizational level. From idea to implementation. From small to large and everything in between.

We develop innovative programs and training courses to stimulate the use of music.

This produces good results for the participants and leads to more job satisfaction among employees.

Care programs

We offer music in healthcare for different target groups and at different locations. For example, to people with dementia, both living at home and in a care institution. We have also developed a program for palliative care and we are also there for people with disabilities.

We offer tailor-made programs that match the target group and situation. The approach may differ per location or care group. We always work closely with our partners and work with a wide range of clients within the healthcare sector.

Social programs

‘Our goal is to bring different people of different backgrounds together through the power of music making.’

In addition to applying music in healthcare, we also have various programs to bring people together through music. From young to old, we welcome everyone!

Education

We develop accessible training courses for healthcare workers, so that they can easily use music during their daily work. Embrace Nederland wants to encourage professional musicians to extend their portfolio career to the care and welfare sector and we develop vocational training modules for future healthcare staff. We provide the internship locations for the Prins Claus Conservatoire, Hanze Hogeschool Groningen.

Research

Based on science, we set to work as a foundation. We get our expertise from science and continue to innovate through the knowledge of science.

Neurologist Erik Scherder (member of the committee of recommendation of Embrace Nederland) has been pointing out for years:, that listening to music and especially making music is good for our brain, our health and well-being. Especially making music yourself has a huge effect on the development of empathy.
